unofficial gauntlet/masters stats

The spring gauntlet & masters LAN tournament is in the books. What a final! Obey emerged victorious against Dignitas in an old-school EU battle.

75 of the 86 available gods were picked or banned, with a few not showing up until the gauntlet portion was over.

Gods not chosen, by class:

  • Warrior: none
  • Assassin: Arachne, Bakasura, Loki
  • Mage: Anubis, Hades, Hel, Raijin
  • Guardian: none
  • Hunter: Apollo, Izanami, Jing Wei, Xbalanque

Note that Freya was never played, but was banned once in the finals.

Only Cernunnos had 100% participation, but that's just for the 28 matches after he became available. Highest otherwise was Fafnir at 88.5%.

Most picked god was Terra with 29, then Rama with 27, then Fafnir with 26.

Most banned was Serqet with 33, then Cabrakan with 30 and Fafnir with 28.

The undefeated god/role combinations were Chiron Mid (3-0), Ullr mid and Xing Tian support (2-0), then 11 one-offs that went 1-0.

Of gods played at least 5 times, best win rate was Sol mid (4-1). Of gods played at least 10 times, it was Fafnir support (19-7) followed by Bellona solo (17-7).

Top KDA by role – Solo:

  • The Morrigan (1-0, 11.5)
  • Terra (1-1, 11.5)
  • Sun Wukong (1-0, 8.5)
  • Bellona (17-7, 3.29)
  • Ravana (0-2, 3.25)
  • Sobek (3-3, 3.23)
  • Tyr (1-1, 3.0)
  • Erlang Shen (6-4, 2.91)
  • Xing Tian (3-3, 2.25)
  • Osiris (9-10, 2.1)
  • Odin (0-2, 2.08)
  • Nike (4-4, 2.0)
  • Kuzenbo (0-1, 2.0)
  • Cabrakan (5-3, 1.98)
  • Vamana (3-2, 1.93)
  • Guan Yu (0-1, 1.9)
  • Hercules (4-7, 1.72)
  • Amaterasu (1-2, 1.14)
  • Fenrir (1-2, 1.11)
  • Chaac (0-1, 0.88)
  • Ymir (1-2, 0.65)
  • Ah Puch (0-1, 0.5)
  • Kumbhakarna (0-1, 0.5)
  • Athena (0-1, 0.25)

Bellona didn't seem particularly well thought of coming into this LAN, but she was obviously the top choice for solo lane here. Only Osiris came close to her participation level.

Top KDA by role – Jungle:

  • Aphrodite (1-0, 13.0)
  • Camazotz (1-0, 5.5)
  • Nemesis (5-4, 4.93)
  • Susano (14-6, 4.41)
  • Serqet (7-4, 4.21)
  • Ravana (9-4, 3.31)
  • Mercury (1-1, 3.17)
  • Ao Kuang (1-0, 3.0)
  • Awilix (2-2, 2.88)
  • Thor (5-9, 2.78)
  • Kali (1-0, 2.5)
  • Chang'e (3-4, 2.3)
  • Cabrakan (1-3, 1.77)
  • Hun Batz (7-11, 1.61)
  • Ymir (0-1, 1.5)
  • He Bo (1-0, 1.38)
  • Thanatos (1-1, 1.25)
  • Odin (0-1, 1.25)
  • Bastet (0-2, 1.0)
  • The Morrigan (0-1, 0.75)
  • Fenrir (1-3, 0.61)
  • Ne Zha (0-1, 0.33)
  • Guan Yu (0-2, 0.17)
  • Ratatoskr (0-1, 0.13)

Susano continued his strong showing, going 4-3 after a 10-3 run through the gauntlet stage. As much as redditors may think he's easy to counter, the pros seem to have trouble with stopping his early gank steamroll. The surprise this weekend, for me at least, was seeing Ravana played 13 times in the jungle after not being picked even once to jungle in the gauntlet.

Top KDA by role – Mid:

  • Chiron (3-0, 32.0)
  • Skadi (1-0, 7.5)
  • Thoth (12-8, 5.34)
  • Sol (4-1, 5.1)
  • The Morrigan (2-1, 4.5)
  • Nox (1-1, 4.5)
  • Chronos (2-1, 4.0)
  • Ullr (2-0, 3.13)
  • Ra (6-3, 3.1)
  • Scylla (4-5, 3.0)
  • Kukulkan (0-1, 3.0)
  • Isis (3-2, 2.6)
  • Poseidon (7-10, 2.39)
  • Nu Wa (1-2, 2.08)
  • Zeus (3-5, 1.88)
  • Vulcan (1-3, 1.12)
  • Janus (0-2, 1.75)
  • Medusa (1-2, 1.55)
  • Anhur (0-1, 1.25)
  • Zhong Kui (2-4, 1.16)
  • Cupid (0-1, 1.13)
  • Agni (0-3, 0.82)
  • Hou Yi (0-1, 0.5)

Thoth took a bit of a tumble in the masters stage, going 6-7 after a 6-1 run through the gauntlet. Zeus was nowhere to be seen after the guantlet was done, but Nu Wa & and Chronos appeared.

Top KDA by role – Support:

  • Athena (4-2, 3.83)
  • Fafnir (19-7, 3.45)
  • Terra (17-10, 2.71)
  • Xing Tian (2-0, 1.94)
  • Sobek (0-4, 1.82)
  • Sylvanus (7-4, 1.71)
  • Erlang Shen (1-0, 1.3)
  • Ares (1-3, 1.2)
  • Khepri (4-7, 1.18)
  • Bacchus (2-5, 1.15)
  • Ymir (2-3, 1.13)
  • Amaterasu (2-8, 1.13)
  • Odin (0-1, 0.63)
  • Cabrakan (0-1, 0.4)
  • Ravana (0-1, 0.38)
  • Geb (0-4, 0.32)
  • Nike (0-1, 0.25)

While it was still largely the Fafnir show, Terra came up big at masters. After a 5-8 run through the gauntlet, she sports a 12-2 record in the masters stage.

Top KDA by role – ADC:

  • Ah Muzen Cab (1-0, 19.5)
  • Cupid (6-4, 3.42)
  • Medusa (10-5, 3.27)
  • Rama (15-12, 3.18)
  • Neith (1-0, 3.17)
  • Cernunnos (10-7, 3.09)
  • Hou Yi (9-13, 2.37)
  • Chronos (0-1, 2.0)
  • Anhur (3-6, 1.64)
  • Skadi (6-10, 1.63)
  • Artemis (0-3, 0.28)

Cernunnos became available in the Masters stage, and he showed up big. Not top ADC, performance-wise, but 100% pick/ban rate and pretty solid results. Rama was still the favorite overall, with Hou Yi seeing a lot of less successful play.

On to the player stats. Note that these are a little weird, since they played a different number of games and some played only against weaker teams while others only played against really good teams, etc…

Top player KDA by role – Solo:

  • KikiSoCheeky (7-2, 3.75)
  • Whalrus (3-3, 3.5)
  • fineokay (4-6, 3.41)
  • Variety (7-3, 3.33)
  • Dimi (6-4, 3.28)
  • Deathwalker (11-7, 2.58)
  • maniaKK (8-4, 2.46)
  • Beltway (1-2, 2.3)
  • Kliz (3-3, 2.27)
  • Duck3y (2-1, 2.2)
  • Xaliea (1-2, 1.92)
  • N0Numbers (2-2, 1.87)
  • Benj1 (1-4, 1.68)
  • Divios (2-4, 1.42)
  • Nika (0-2, 1.29)
  • ScaryD (1-2, 1.05)
  • Sibi (2-2, 1.03)
  • Aquarius (0-2, 0.93)
  • kikiomeo (0-2, 0.6)
  • CycloneSpin (0-2, 0.6)
  • Uzzy (0-2, 0.38)

fineokay had a great gauntlet, but against the better teams at masters it went downhill fast. Variety looked good despite seeing nothing but top-notch competition. Dimi continued to be reliably better than average, while traditionally strong solo laners like Divios and ScaryD struggled.

Top player KDA by role – Jungle:

  • MiketheMagikarp (0-2, 12.5) (not a typo, happened in gauntlet)
  • oShip (3-3, 4.85) (Forca Brasil!)
  • QvoFred (7-3, 4.75)
  • Adapting (6-4, 4.57)
  • iceicebaby (11-7, 3.78)
  • Cynosure (3-3, 3.5)
  • Skeeledon (7-2, 3.21)
  • Gorgonzolla (2-2, 2.88)
  • Mask (1-2, 2.6)
  • CaptainTwig (8-4, 2.45)
  • Homiefe (4-6, 2.17)
  • Rearward (2-1, 1.95)
  • Faeles (2-2, 1.82)
  • djpernicus (2-4, 1.79)
  • Cherryo (1-2, 1.39)
  • Weak3n (0-2, 1.1)
  • Sm1tero (1-2, 1.0)
  • Varizial (1-4, 0.95)
  • Rowe (0-2, 0.6)
  • Elchapo (0-2, 0.5)
  • Mirage (0-2, 0.45)

QvoFred was his usual powerhouse self, but check out Black Dragon oShip! Very strong showing from the Brazilians. I spent most of their matches blaring Sepultura and Soulfly and shouting words I don't even understand that probably weren't even appropriate (Bumba! Bumba!)

Top player KDA by role – Mid:

  • Zyrhoes (7-3, 5.5)
  • PrettyPriMe (8-4, 5.46)
  • Venenu (7-2, 5.22)
  • Baskin (1-2, 3.83)
  • Hurriwind (3-3, 3.18)
  • Yammyn (6-4, 2.93)
  • Nann (3-3, 2.87)
  • nulisa (2-2, 2.81)
  • Wlfy (11-7, 2.47)
  • andinster (4-6, 2.46)
  • ShadowNightmare (2-1, 2.21)
  • Incon (0-2, 2.0)
  • TheBest (2-4, 1.63)
  • Lawbster (1-2, 1.58)
  • Metyankey (0-2, 1.5)
  • Tynz (2-2, 1.38)
  • Ochita (0-2, 1.33)
  • TheDarkDodo (0-2, 1.25)
  • MLCSt3alth (0-2, 1.17)
  • N0zx (1-2, 0.82)
  • Khaos (1-4, 0.7)

I think it really makes a strong statement just how good Zyrhoes and PrettyPriMe are when they have top KDA despite only playing against the best teams.

Top player KDA by role – Support:

  • Dardez (2-2, 15.25)
  • Frezzyy (2-1, 4.1)
  • EmilZy (8-4, 3.61)

  • NeiruMah (7-2, 2.19)
  • PIBE (3-3, 2.18)
  • KaLaS (11-7, 1.81)
  • BigManTingz (1-2, 1.79)
  • Eonic (3-3, 1.46)
  • Jigz (4-6, 1.38)
  • JeffHindla (1-2, 1.31)

  • Wubbn (0-2, 0.38)
  • ViviaNx3 (0-2, 0.36)
  • RichardCastle (0-2, 0.19)

EmilZy may be new to Obey, but he's been around a long time and he showed why he's a coveted support player in EU. Another strong showing by Brazil, another unexpectedly bad ranking for Luminosity. Seems no one other than Obey could stop the unexpected Rival wrecking ball at this event.

Top player KDA by role – ADC:

  • MarcelZ (3-3, 6.5)
  • Ataraxia (8-4, 4.44)
  • DayToRemember (7-2, 3.86)

  • MingyuSeo (0-2, 0.75)
  • Oceans (0-2, 0.63)
  • Xenotronics (0-2, 0.39)

After a lot of near misses, a Brazilian claims the top spot at KDA for the event! Congrats MarcelZ! Ataraxia played extremely well, as usual. A rough event for two of the most iconic hunters in Smite, BaRRaCCuDDa and Zapman. I expect both to be dominant in the next split as they push to get their teams back to the top.
