Hey guys, just want to post it here so it is visible. I had networking issues with Ghost Recon beta and Future Soldier in the past (also For Honor beta but I played Siege and any other non-Ubi game without ANY issues). Namely I couldn't connect to my buddies, only some public guys but matchmaking took like 30 minutes.
It says my NAT is strict. Which is kinda bullshit because I have the ports forwarded, I tried UPnP, I put my computer in the DMZ and after I was still strict I tried to connect my CPU to the internet without router. Still strict NAT. So I asked my provider. They say they are not blocking any ports and that static public IP may help (which I doubt).
After fixing this issue for like 3 hours I tried to mess up a little with the router, switching UPnP off and shutting the DMZ, then allowing it again and restarting router and it SOMEHOW worked (I could connect to my friend, yet NAT still strict). I was messing with this also in For Honor beta to ensure it is fixed by GR:W launch and I somehow got the NAT open at one point (after one played round it switched back to strict). Now you will say that it is router thing but I repeat – I tried connecting CPU directly without router and I still got strict NAT. I browsed the internet, tried every guide, nothing. My only success now is the UPnP/DMZ turn off and on and it works only before I restart the game and sometimes it breaks after leaving the MP game. Funny is that nothing ever happened during the game. Once the game allows me to connect to someone, it is perfect and I have no DCs or anthing. Plenty of people have issues like me with almost all the Ubi games, mostly it ends with some guy who knows shit saying that Ubi has shitty networking and explaining why but that doesn't help. Like what the fuck, it is 2017 and I have to have fucking IT degree and risk my computer getting hacked in order to play a game?
Anyone any advices or experience?
Well the other thing is that I wrote Ubi support a ticket. Two hours after the beta launched. I also updated it two times providing detail description of what I was trying. The response came Feb 7th; one day AFTER the beta closed and the response was:
The Closed Beta for Ghost Recon: Wildlands has come to an end and any in-game access or content will no longer be available at this time. Thank you for your interest and involvement in this testing phase. Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set to release on March 7th, 2017 and we hope to see you there! We greatly appreciate the time you have taken to inform us of the issue you have encountered and for your feedback. Rest assured, the information you have provided will be forwarded up to the development team.
I mean… WHAT THE FUCK.
Like… I don't even know if I am able to fix it or if it is Ubi side. The only things I can do is buy a new router (I have an old one) and to try the public IP (it costs like 0.70€ per month). But I have no clue if that helps at all.
EDIT: If someone cares to elaborate I am from the Czech Republic, have balanced 100MB optical cable internet and my router is D-Link DI-524.
