…and this time it wasn't because of those stupid flame wheels.
Anyway, the other night, I was farming the spider boss on that one twilight mission for some drops so I could craft some respectable gear for NG+. It took me a few hours to get the amount I needed, and by the time I did, I was pretty mentally exhausted. Weary, I headed off to the blacksmith to wrap up my grind.
What happened next completely blindsided me. Entering the smith, one would usually expect the typical: “Welcome!” greeting, if anything at all. What I received was as follows:
“Welcome hom- I mean, welcome back.”
Now this is some adorable shit right here, and allow me to go into detail as to why.
There are two key points to address from this line.
William visits the weapon smith so frequently that Tome considers it his 'home away from home.'
Having been there throughout Willam's whole journey, she's gotten close enough to the wayfaring foreigner that she actually looks to him as she would a family member.
Long story short, a stupid throwaway line with absolutely no meaning behind it left me all smiles and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling in my chest for a remainder of a night.
I'm an adult.
