Pros: High Versatility
Appearance: Phobos and Deimos appear in Smite as two men, they are both short and stocky. Deimos being short and stocky, Phobos being tall and lanky. Phobos has grey skin, with long black hair. Deimos has grey/green skin, with short black hair. They are both wearing black armor, with grey torn clothing underneath. Phobos has lion like features, while Phobos is wearing a white bone mask. Phobos is wielding a large stone flail, and Deimos is wielding a shield and mace. Deimos’ shield is adorned with a skull, who has an open mouth. Deimos has a deep, breathy voice, and Phobos has a shrill voice.
Design Choices: Phobos was said to be eager to dive into the fight, which is why he’s the more aggressive, damaging one. Since Deimos is more about dread than fear, I thought it would be more appropriate for him to rely more on tanking and then utilizing the damage he has taken, as a way of make enemies “dread” hitting him or something.
Passive Ability: Brotherly Assistance
Deimos and Phobos have come to the battlefield together, in order to bring as much fear and dread as possible. Whenever you hit an enemy god with an ability, you gain a stack of Brotherly Assistance. When you reach five stacks of Brotherly Assistance, your next ability will be enhanced.
1st Ability: Fearful Blast/Tether of Dread
As Phobos, you create an orb of pure fear, and send it forward in a 40 unit line, with the width of Spirit Arrow. This orb will deal 80/120/160/200/240 (60% physical scaling) damage to minions. If it strikes an enemy god, the orb will burst, applying the damage in a 20 unit area around the god. This will also fear gods. If this ability is affected by Brotherly Assistance, then Phobos will gain 10/15/20/25/30 protections for three seconds if it bursts from an enemy god.
As Deimos, you send out a tether from the maw of your shield. This tether will attach to the first enemy god hit in a 55 unit line. While tethered to this god, Deimos will gain 10/15/20/25/30 protections, and the enemy god will have a mounting slow of 10% (+5% every second) applied to them. This tether lasts for six seconds. If this ability is affected by Brotherly Assistance, then Deimos will gain 10/15/20/25/30 physical power while the tether is on them.
2nd Ability: Terrifying Strikes/Mounting Dread
As Phobos, you swing your flail in a circle around you, dealing 90/125/160/195/230 (40% physical scaling) then swinging the flail down in a 30 unit line in front of you, dealing an additional 30/50/70/90/110 (40% physical scaling) damage and slowing enemies hit by 20% for one second.. If this ability is affected by Brotherly Assistance, Phobos will instead knock enemies up.
As Deimos, you raise your shield up in front of you. For a short duration of three seconds, all damage against you will be reduced by 4/8/12/16/20%. At the end of the three seconds, Deimos will dash forward 25/30/35/40/45 units, dealing 90/135/180/225/270 (70% physical scaling) damage. If this ability is affected by Brotherly Assistance, Deimos will also gain 10/15/20/25/30% damage reflection while his shield is up.
3rd Ability: Fear Me/Frightful Crush
Phobos slams his flail down in a 15 unit radius up to 40 units away, dealing 100/135/170/205/240 (75% physical scaling) damage and fearing all enemies hit for 1.5/1.75/2/2.25/2.5 seconds. If this ability is affected by Brotherly Assistance, Phobos can reuse this ability within two seconds to leap to where the flail landed.
Deimos raises his mace high above his head, before slamming it down, cracking the earth in a 30 unit line in front of him. Enemies hit will take 80/125/170/215/260 (75% physical scaling) damage. If this ability is affected by Brotherly Assistance, Deimos will be able to reuse this ability within one second to slam down again, dealing no damage, but rooting enemies for 1.5 seconds.
Ultimate Ability: Fear Itself/Dread Itself
You switch between which brother you are playing. You start the game playing as Phobos. This ability is available at level one, but bonuses are only applied once you put points in them. As Deimos, when you take damage, you gain stacks of Dread. Stacks of Dread will cause your ability cast to deal an additional two damage per stack of Dread. All stacks of Dread will be consumed when you use an ability with them. As Phobos, when you deal damage, you gain stacks of Fright's Might for four seconds. Stacks of Fright's Might cause Phobos to gain one penetration. You can have up to thirty stacks of Fright's Might.
