I feel like at least some of you out there may have known him, and mostly I think I just need to vent before I break down again. Any of you who are/were active on the Wyrmrest Accord or Blackwater Raiders RP scene in the past decade or so might remember Aeldan, a blood elf Rogue (née Paladin). Outside of the game we knew him as Jeremy, and despite the fact that he lived in Canada and we never got to meet face-to-face (I live in Oregon), he was one of my best friends. Jeremy had been dealing with diabetes for as long as I'd known him, and was diagnosed with Addison's Disease on top of that just a couple years ago. Despite dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, and just generally feeling like shit, he was always hard-headed, quick-witted, and somehow more full of life than just about anyone I ever met. Recently, he found himself taking what seemed to be a turn for the better thanks to some new medication. He quit smoking weed (a big deal for him as he had been using it to manage his pain for quite awhile and gave us all a warning that you absolutely can become addicted) and started putting on weight for the first time since his Addison's diagnosis. Things finally seemed to be looking up, to the point where he was seriously planning on flying down for my big 30th birthday party in March. And then one night he was gone, so suddenly and unexpectedly that I only found out through the bevy of goodbye posts he was suddenly tagged in on Facebook. I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, I just know that I'm devastated and I know he touched a lot of lives in the RP community over the course of the years, so I thought it would be fitting to let people know in the only way I can think of. Rest easy, little brother. I love you.
