So, I wanted to make this guide because I've been having trouble getting this game to run smooth. This guide will not only increase your fps, but will most likely help to make your game run smoother.
Here are my specs:
- i5 6600k OCed to 4.6 ghz
- AMD r9 380 4gb
- 8gb ddr4 2400
- Samsung 850 evo 500 gb
I think these specs are pretty middle of the pack compared to others, so this guide should (in theory) work for a good amount of people.
Alright, let's start with the basics. Here are my video settings options:
I've set texture to medium, because very low does not look good IMO and I didn't see any difference in frames per second or smoothness.
The reason view distance is set to ultra is because it allows your CPU to render in the details when you are in the plane instead of when you are on the ground which can cause massive stuttering. If you get stuttering I highly suggest trying setting this to ultra.
The rest are set to very low, which will achieve you the most fps.
I've set this to 1680×1050 and have found that it has drastically decreased my input lag and increased the overall smoothness of the game. The visibility at this resolution seems to be perfectly fine and jagged edges don't seem very much more common than at 1080p.
this is pretty simple. go to this file path in windows file explorer: (whatever drive letter PUBG is installed on):Users(insert windows user name here)AppDataLocalTslGameSavedConfigWindowsNoEditor
go down to the GameUserSettings.ini and swap this in for the section
sg.ResolutionQuality=70.000000 sg.ViewDistanceQuality=4 sg.AntiAliasingQuality=0 sg.ShadowQuality=0 sg.PostProcessQuality=0 sg.TextureQuality=2 sg.EffectsQuality=0 sg.FoliageQuality=0
just replace whatever's in the file w/ this:
SmoothedFrameRateRange=(LowerBound= (Type="ERangeBoundTypes::Inclusive",Value=60),UpperBound= (Type="ERangeBoundTypes::Exclusive",Value=144))
And there you go!
